A republican group, styling itself the new IRA, has reportedly admitted murdering prison officer David Black.
In a statement to the “Irish News” it linked the killing to ongoing tensions at Maghaberry jail.
But the Ulster Unionist Justice spokesman Tom Elliott said there was no justification for the murder.
He said prisoners with a grievance should go through the proper channels:
