“The Hills of Donegal” are for sale claims farm forestry spokesman

It’s been claimed today that a decision to sell 1,100 of state owned forestry land outside Ballybofey is in direct contravention of promises made by the Taoiseach and the Agriculture MInister during the MacGill Summer School in Glenties last July.
Donegal Forestery spokesperson John Jackson says he secured the promises from both Enda Kenny and Simon Coveney, and now a huge tract of land is being sold by tender tomorrow week.
Mr Jackson says they have established the land is owned by Coillte, and he’s comparing the proposed sale to the bargaining away of oil and gas rights……….
