Consultation launched on Master Plan for City of Derry Airport

City of Derry Airport has published a draft Master Plan which sets out the Airports vision for future development.
The airport and Derry City Council say the document is intended to grow the Airport and deliver the widest possible economic and social benefit to the North West Region.
The document is stressing the airport’s importance as a regional airport, serving Donegal and Tyrone as well as Derry, with the public consultation continuing until the 15th of February next year.
The Managing Director of the airport Damien Tierney says the Draft Master Plan sets out a vision for the development of the Airport as a transport gateway for the North West of the island of Ireland.
Mayor Cllr Kevin Campbell says the airport continues to be an important asset for the city and region, and he wants people to contribute.
City of Derry Airport Ltd says the facility has developed as the principal gateway to the entire North West of Ireland for both business and leisure traffic, making it a central piece of infrastructure for the region, and they want to ensure that continues.
