The European Court of Justice in Luxembourg has approved the European Stability Mechanism after three questions were referred by the Supreme Court on foot of a case taken by Donegal TD Thomas Pringle.
The court found EU law does not preclude the conclusion and ratification of the treaty.
The case was referred to Europe after the Supreme Court here ruled that the ESM is fully compatible with the Irish Constitution.
Deputy Pringle says he’s disappointed at the outcome, but glad that the mechanism was tested…..
