SF will not support council budget if rent increases are sought

Sinn Fein says it will not be able to support the proposed Council budget for 2013 while it contains an increase in rent for those living in council owned property.
Donegal County Council is proposing an increase in rent for its tenents which will equate to over 100 euro per house per year.
It is just one of the measures proposed in the Draft Budget for 2013 which will be decided on by County Councillors on Wednesday.
Sinn Fein Whip on the Council Mick Quinn says there are a number of reasons why the rent increases proposed will not be supported by his party:
