UPDATED: Deadlock continues at Council’s reconvened budget meeting

Councillors continue to meet in Lifford this evening in an effort to agree a revenue budget for 2013.
The budget contained proposals for a 2 euro a week increase in rent for people living in council owned property, however councillors have blocked those proposals.
This means the revenue the increase would have brought in will have to be offset with savings.
Fianna Fail has  proposals to save €281,000 while Fine Gael  propose savings of €190,000.
