The controversial set of new traffic lights at McClay’s corner, Stranorlar will be switched on for the first time later today.
The lights will effect the journey of thousands of motorists who pass through the junction on a daily basis.
Whether or not lights should be at the junction, which has six access points, has been debated for years with local businesses and road users split on the impact they will have.
Local Councillor Patrick McGowan is one of those that opposes them, he says it remains to be seen if the lights make traffic congestion better or worse:
