The Mayor of Letterkenny says he believes the British Irish Parliamentary
Assembly meeting which is continuing today would not have happened if the town did not have Gateway status.
The discussion, which is focusing on the future of energy provision, is based at Letterkenny Institute of Technology, which was chosen partially because of the work being done at the college in the green energy area.
Cllr Larkin says that’s a testament to the cross border collaborations and internal enhancements that been achieved at LYIT in recent years, and he fears losing Gateway status will jeopardise future growth:
