The Donegal Gathering calendar of events has been officially launched today, with over 140 events taking place between now and the end of the year.
Speaking at the launch, Maire Aine Gardiner of Failte Ireland said at the core of The Gathering will be local community groups and event organisers, and a large part of Failte Ireland’s involvement will be to provide training to help those people provide the best service possible.
She also says they’ll be given practical help to improve their marketting……….
One of the inaugural Donegal events on the calendar is the Dave Gallagher Summer School, which takes place in Ramelton in the last week in July, celebrating the local man who went to New Zealand and became the first captain of the All Blacks.
Spokesperson Kevin Shields says the involvement of The Gathering is highly important in getting the event off the ground, particularly as much of their target audience is on the other side of the world………
