The Norths Agriculture Minister Michelle O’Neill has met farmers in the Sperrin mountains following concerns over the aid package for those affected by recent snowfall.
She said she wanted to reassure them that they will be included in the hardship payments.
Yesterday West Tyrone MLA Joe Byrne said more clarity was needed, particularly on the criteria for claiming compensation and the mechanism for having it paid.
He also raised concerns earlier in the week that farmers in the Sperrin Mountain region of Tyrone and Derry would not be included in a financial aid package.
Fellow West Tyrone Sinn Fein MLA Declan McAleer, who himself lives in the foothills of the Sperrins, met farmers with the Minister yesterday.
