Regional Devlopment Minister in the North accepts A5 decision

A5 RouteThe Regional Development Minister in the North Danny Kennedy has said he will not appeal a judges’s quashing of the decision to go ahead with a new £330m A5 dual carriageway project.
Last week, Mr Justice Stephens granted the department a seven-day stay to lodge any appeal to his ruling on the A5.
Mr Kennedy said it was his intention to “accept the ruling”.
The decision effectively means a return to the drawing board for DRD, who will face the entire procedural process from scratch, including another public enquiry, should they wish to keep the project alive.
The Treasurer of the Alternative A5 Alliance, Hamilton Hassard, says he’s glad the Minister has seen sense…..
