The Mayor of Letterkenny says the council will not be recognising the findings of the Irish Business Against Litter league.
It was announced yesterday that the town was back into the league having previously been ommitted. Buncrana which finished 8th overall last year has been dropped.
Relations between IBAL and Letterkenny Town Council have, in the past been strained, with the council questioning IBAL’s marking system, which saw the town criticised in the litter league while it was winning Gold Medals and other Tidy Towns awards.
Mayor Dessie Larkin has again called for government funding of IBAL to be withdrawn:
