Donegal County Council reports ‘Surge in Household Charge Payments’

There has been a surge in the number of households paying the household charge in Donegal over the last number of weeks according to Donegal County Council.
The local authority says it now expects to exceed the 65% compliance rate this week.
Those who oppose the tax are likely to again question the level of compliance. They argue that the process of compiling the figures is flawed and that the compliance rate is much lower.
Today, in a statement the Council says it ‘is continuing to urge householders to pay their household charge now to avoid incurring any further late payment fees and charges’
The Council will accept payment at any of the Council Offices throughout the county.
Householders can also pay online at www.householdcharge.ie
