Letterkenny General Hospital has become one of the first in the country to provide a routine hearing test for new born babies.
The National Newborn Hearing Screening Programme was rolled out yesterday in Letterkenny and Sligo, and will be rolled out across the rest of the country by the end of the year.
Assistant Letterkenny General Hospital Manager Paddy Rooney says the test is a quick, simple and painless way to check a newborn’s baby’s hearing, and will help determine a hearing impairment at a very early stage:
