Player of the Month McNamee included in Irish u21 squad

It was double joy for Ramelton’s Barry McNamee on Wednesday.

The Derry City player was named Player of the Month for April and was also included in the Republic of Ireland Under 21 squad for the upcoming friendly with Denmark at the end of May.

Barry was named as the only uncapped player in the sixteen man squad, where he is joined by Carl Mc Hugh, Shane Duffy and Seamus Mc Dermott. Finn Harps keeper Ciaran Gallagher has also been invited to train with the U21’s during their preparations for the fixture.

McNamee pipped Derry team-mate Ger Doherty and St. Pats Greg Bolger to the player prize having scored three goals in five games last month.
