Public meeting to discuss Donegal Town SEN preschool closure

A public meeting is taking in place this (Thursday) evening to discuss a HSE decision to close the special needs preschool in Donegal Town from September.
There are only two SEN preschools in Donegal – St Agnes’s in Donegal Town is closing in September with the building to be used to provide services to adults with intellectual disability.
Fears remain that the preschool Letterkenny will also be axed.
Children with special needs who are effected by the closure  will be integrated into mainstream early childhood services over time.
Gina Grant’s child is effected my move  – she told the Shan Doherty Show that while integration in main stream preschools suits some, it will mean other children will lose out altogether:

The meeting will be held in the Radisson Blu Hotel Thursday evening at 7.30pm for parents to discuss the issue.
