A Belfast woman who sunk and became trapped in sand on the Five Fingers Strand in Inishowen has called on the council to erect signs warning of the danger.
The scenic stretch of beach near Malin Head is hugely popular with locals and visitors alike, however ‘Jan’ has told how she and her husband had a lucky escape.
She has told the Shaun Doherty Show how she was terrified when they became trapped in sand, her husband escaped quickly but ‘Jan’s’ struggled to free both her arms and legs.
Jan says she spoke out to warn others and has asked the council to assist in that regard:
