The road safety campaign group PARC says the form used by gardai to record statistics on road collisions is badly outdated, and needs urgent reform.
PARC founder Susan Grey says the CT68 form is used by the Road Safety Authority to record statistics andf by county councils to collate information on road conditions, but the form has several deficiencies.
She says the issue has been under review since 2006, but nothing has been done, despite a Garda mission to Australia to examine documentation there over six years ago.
Susan Grey says one of the biggest difficiencies is there is no field for recording Hit and Run crashes, and that has caused serious distress to several families………
