Strabane/Lifford Riverine Project funding pulled

riverFunding for the Riverine project along the Tyrone/Donegal border has been pulled.
The cross border initiative was aimed at regenerating the Strabane/Lifford border riverside area.
Among the proposals were a network of cycle paths, a pedestrian bridge linking Strabane and Lifford, and a green are along with public art and interactive play areas.
But the Special European Union Programmes Body  have said the €6m funding is now not available due to insufficent funds.
Strabane District Council have declined to comment, while Donegal County Council said no-one was available.
