Overhaul of Rural Transport Programme to be announced today

Major changes to the Rural Transport Programme are expected to be announced today.
The Government programme was set up to meet the transport needs of people in rural areas.
It carries out around 1.3 million passenger journeys every year.
Details of improvements in the provision of the system are expected to be outlined by the Public Transport Minister later this morning.
