Foyle assembly member Mark H Durkan is to replace his SDLP colleague Alex Attwood as environment minister.
Mr Durkan was elected to the assembly in 2011 and had been the party’s social development spokesperson.
Speaking to Highland Radio News monents after he was informed of the news,Minister Durkan said it was a very proud day:
