Donegal Town gets ‘Irish Water’ Regional Headquarters and 32 jobs

It’s been confirmed this afternoon that Donegal Town is to be the site of one of eight Regional Headquarters for Irish Water.
Environment Minister Phil Hogan says it’s been decided to base the North West centre of operations in Donegal, with 32 jobs being created as a result.
The jobs will be drawn from the local authority, the Department of the Environment, Community & Local Government, Bord Gáis and open recruitment.
Irish Water has been established to take over the running of the country’s water supply and will be tasked with installing the controversial new water meters for over 1.5 million domestic and business customers.
Today’s jobs announcement is being welcomed by Junior Minister Dinny Mc Ginley:
