Sinn Fein to reroute controversial Castlederg parade

castlederg1A UUP MLA has said Sinn Féin’s rerouting of a controversial parade is trying to defend the indefensible.
Sinn Féin has announced that it would re-route the parade it is holding in Castlederg in August.
The march commemorates the death of two IRA men who died in 1973 when their own bomb exploded prematurely.
After Unionists called for the parade to be banned, Sinn Féin said the parade would no longer pass the town’s cenotaph or Methodist church.
But West Tyrone MLA Ross Hussey says the parade should be banned completely…….


In repsonse Derg Sinn Fein Cllr, Ruairi McHugh has said his party have listened to the concerns of the Unionist community in Castlederg, and that is why they have re-routed the parade.
And Cllr McHugh says Ross Hussey should reflect on the fact that Castlederg is a majority nationalist town:
