Concern at planning application for new road out of Letterkenny Shopping Centre

A number of Letterkenny Town Councillors have expressed concern at a planning application for an exit road out of Letterkenny Shopping Centre. The application, in the name of Lindat Limited of Harcourt House in Dublin, seeks permission for an egress road from the car park onto the Port Road, with a left turn only
However, a number of members fear this could prove a precursor to another application for a filling station in the car park grounds, a development which has already been turned down on a number of occasions by An Bord Pleanala.
Cllr Jim Lynch believes another exit road onto the Port Road would have serious traffic consequences………

Other significant planning proposals presented to the this week’s council meeting include an application for a new storm flow routing pipe at Letterkenny General Hospital and an extension to the Co-Lab building at Letterkenny Institute of Technology as part of the North West Regional Science Park.
