A Councillor has called on the mining company, awarded ten prospecting licences in the Stranorlar area to outline details of their plans to the council and the local commnunity.
Connemara Mining has been awarded ten prospecting licences covering gold, silver and base metals.
The area was selected by Connemara’s geologists following a extensive review of gold opportunities in Ireland.
Local Councillor Patrick McGowen says locals should be told what they can expect in the area and if Stranorlar would benefit from any significant precious metal finds:
