The Health Service has agreed to pay almost 800-thousand euro to the family of a 29-year-old woman who died eight days after giving birth to her first child.
Dhara Kivlehan , who is a native of India, died in September of 2010 after developing pre-eclampsia and a related condition.
The High Court heard she did not receive the appropriate specialist medical treatment at Sligo General Hospital as she suffered multiple organ failure.
Dhara had to be airlifted to Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital where she died a number of days later.
The family’s solicitor Roger Murray says they now want to see a full inquiry:
