The justice minister says over 30,000 people have applied to join the Gardaí.
Alan Shatter says advertisements seeking a new batch of Garda recruits will be published next week.
He says the number of people who’ve expressed an interest in joining the force is over three times more than usual.
And he says it’s possible that even more people will apply for Garda training in Templemore next year:
