Transport Minister seeks meeting with the PARC road safety group

Leo VaradkarTransport Minister Leo Varadker has sought a meeting with the Road Safety Organisation PARC after speaking with the group’s founder in Leinster House last evening.
Inishowen based Susan Grey was attending the committee stage of the Road Safety Bill, when the minister approached her and asked for a meeting in the New Year.
She told Highland Radio News it’s a very positive step, and outlined some of the issues agreed at committee stage:


Meanwhile, new figures show that motorists in Donegal are the least likely to receive penalty points.
An analysis of points issued between January 2011 and November this year shows that motorists in Clare are the most likely to be stopped by gardai.
Drivers least likely to get points are those in Donegal, followed by Monaghan, Mayo, Kerry and North Tipperary.
