Meteor shower to be visible tonight & tomorrow

What has been described as most intense meteor shower of the year will be visible tonight and into tomorrow. Friday 13  /Saturday 14
The Geminid shower is expected to be at its most spectacular from 4am until dawn on Saturday, if there are clear skies, and you will not need a telescope.
Doctor Robert Massey from the Royal Astronomical Society in Britain explains what we will see.
“This is quite a bright shower – meteors…are caused by bits of debris coming into the earth’s atmosphere at very high speed; when they do that, they burn up and the air around them gets super-heated, and that’s what the streak of light (is) that you see” he said.
“If you’ve seen a shooting star, you’ve basically seen a meteor” he added.
