David Colhoun’s father plans to take legal action against PSNI

David ColhounThe father of a Lifford man who drowned after escaping from police custody in Strabane in May 2011 has said he plans to take action against the PSNI.
A Police Ombudsman investigation last week found failings on behalf of the PSNI.
David Colhoun’s remains were discovered in the River Finn last February, 10 months after he disappeared.
The 22-year-old had been arrested during a night out in Strabane but managed to evade capture while being transferred between police cars.
During the inquest last week Stephen Black of the Northern Ireland Police Ombudsman’s office said that their investigations had found failings in how officers handled Mr Colhoun after he was arrested.
Speaking today for the first time since last weeks inquest, Joseph Colhoun says while he plans to take actions, he says he will never know what actually happened that night:
