Derry Mayor urges Stormont to match council’s commitment to the Brandywell

Derry City Council has agreed to progress with a 2.7 million pounds programme to regenerate the Brandywell Sports Stadium.
As part of the plan, the greyhound track will move to a new proposed location around the Showgrounds pitch, and the existing grass playing pitch will be replaced with a synthetic surface. Four new changing rooms will also be provided to allow year round use for games and training.
Essential works to address some pressing health and safety issues at the Stadium have been approved subject to planning permission.
Derry’s mayor Cllr Martin Reilly says it’s important that Stormont now follows the council’s lead ……..
