As thousands take to the roads for Christmas today – the Road Safety Authority is warning motorists to take extra care with more bad weather expected.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange warning – with gales of up to 120 kilometres per hour due to affect exposed areas.
The high winds and heavy rain are also bringing the possibility of spot flooding.
