Woman dies after being struck by a car in Carndonagh

A woman has died after being struck by a car in Churchtown, Carndonagh.
The woman, who was close to her home and in her 70’s, was struck by the vehicle at 5.40pm yesterday (Monday) evening.
She was rushed to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry where she died from her injuries just before midnight.
There was one vehicle involved, which remained at the scene.
The driver of the car, a man in his 40’s, was not injured.
The area has been sealed off while forensic collision investigators carry out an examination.
