More people now see the EU as the problem rather than the solution – Harkin

North West MEP Marian Harkin says there’s a growing disenchantment among citizens of the EU, and that’s a cause for concern.
Ms Harkin says previously, the EU was regarded as having answers to economic problems, now, a growing number of people are seeing the union as part of the problem.
In Ireland, support for the EU has fallen 23% since 2009, in Spain and Greece, the fall is even sharper.
Ms Harkin says the European Commission and the government should take the lesson from this poll and re-direct EU policy to a path leading to growth rather than further austerity………….
