Over a million euro has been allocated to provide a new bridge on the Ballybofey to Glenties road at Elactagh.
A temporary ‘Baily Bridge’ was erected in 2012 at a cost of 50 thousand euro and was described at the time as an embarrassment with some lorries and buses getting stuck on it.
Work on a permanent two lane replacement is expected to start in March.
