An online petition has been launched in an effort to secure funding for two life saving charities in Derry.
Foyle Search and Rescue and the ‘Hurt’ charity made a joint application for funding to continue and improve their services but had their applications declined.
HURT was founded by Derry mother Sadie O’Reilly who lost her son Tony through his heroin addiction – it offers support to drug and alcohol users and their families.
Ms O’Reilly says both services are vital to Derry and is asking people to sign a petition to secure them funding:
