New group seeks public input into new laws to tackle Cyberbullying

The public is being asked for input on possible new laws around Cyberbullying

The Internet Content Advisory Group has been set up to discuss whether Ireland’s laws on harassment and abuse need to be updated for the internet age.
The sudden deaths of Erin and Shannon Gallagher have been linked to online bullying as has the death of Leitrim teenager Ciara Pugsley.
The communications minister Pat Rabbitte says online harassment is illegal under laws already in place in Ireland.
He says Ireland needs to strike a balance between freedom of speech and protecting people from needless abuse:
