A Donegal County Councillor has called for dredging work to take place this week at Magheroarty pier.
Currently boats cannot use the pier because of the influx of sand there.
Magheroarty pier is popular among local fishermen and it is also used by the Tory Island ferry.
Cllr Seamus O’Domnhaill wants the Council to begin dredging work but says this is only a short term solution, and a sea wall should be built eventually:
