Deignan off to a solid start with Team Sky

Philip Deignan’s career with Team Sky has kicked off on a positive note with a solid showing at the Tour Down Under in Australia which ended on Sunday.
Deignan played the support role to team leader Richie Porte superbly leading out the sky train on the opening stages and helping Porte to victory on Saturday’s stage five.
The Letterkenny rider finished inside the top 50 over ten minutes down on the overall winner Simon Gerrans.
It’s believed that Deignan will be in with a shout of making the team to line out in this year’s Giro in Italy which has a May 9^th start in Belfast.
Philip will be back on the saddle for either the Mallorca or the Ruta Del Sol races in a few weeks time.
