PARC founder says penalty points loophole still hasn’t been fully addressed

The Donegal based founder of the Road Safety Organisation PARC says many drivers are still avoiding penalty points because the courts are not passing on the details of drivers who receive points.
Susan Gray was speaking after meeting with Transport Minister Leo Varadkar in Dublin last evening.
Previously, it emerged that a loophole existing whereby drivers who were given penalty points in court but did not have their driving licence with them did not have the points recorded, and effectively escaped.
Legislation to close that loophole was introduced over two years ago, but Susan Gray says it isn’t being enforced, despite the fact that Minister Varadkar has established a working group to bring the departments together………..
