Mayor of Donegal accused of avoiding debate over St Patricks trip to New York

statue of libertyA Donegal County Cllr has called on the Mayor of Donegal to debate further a trip to America on St Patricks day.
It was revealed on Monday that the Council will send its Mayor, his Deputy and two council executives to New York for Saint Patrick’s Day.
Mayor Ian McGarvey, Deputy Mayor Cllr Michael Mc Bride, the County Manager and another senior official will spend a week in New York at a cost of over 10 thousand euro to the tax payer.
When Highland Radio News contacted Mayor Ian McGarvey today he declined to publicly comment on the matter.
