Orange Hall reopened in Manorcunningham following renovations

ManorcunninghamThe Orange Hall in Manorcunningham has officially reopened following a massive €174,000 renovation project.
The project was funded by the International Fund for Ireland and the Leader programme, with management stressing it is a facility for the whole community.
Built in the middle of the last century, the venue is one of 17 Orange halls which remain in regular use in Donegal, but age and wear meant extensive repairs were needed.
The building was stripped to its bare walls and rebuilt while the kitchen and bathroom facilities were also overhauled.
The International Fund for Ireland provided €85,000 towards the first phase of the refurbishment, with the second phase completed with €75,000 from the LEADER Programme managed by Donegal Local Development Company.
Speaking at the official reopening last evening, the Chairman of Manorcunningham Orange Hall Robert Wallace said the completed venue will host a wide range of community and cross-community activities and called for interested groups and individuals to get in touch.
This is a facility for all, he stressed, and it is open to everyone to use.
