Jim Mc GuinnessDonegal began life in Division 2 of the National Football League on Sunday with a hugely encouraging 13-point win over Laois at O’Moore Park in Portlaoise.
Jim McGuinness’ men led by 1-6 to 0-5 at the break thanks to an Odhran MacNiallais goal in the 13th minute.
A superb goal from Colm McFadden just two minutes after the resumption of play set the tone for a dominant second half display.
Laois were then in real trouble when Denis Booth was issued with a straight red card for a high tackle on Mark McHugh.
The fight was knocked the Leinster side after that as Donegal romp home to win thanks to the scoring contribution of ten different players.
Donegal Manager Jim Mc Guinness was pleased with the attitude with the players in the opening game.
