Over 200 people turned out in Bunbeg this week for a meeting to show support for the local post office.
Fears have been raised recently about the future of the post office, after An Post confirmed that it was considering its closure.
The threat comes following the retirement of the local postmistress in the parish who hasn’t been replaced.
At the meeting in Gweedore a committee was set up, and Local Election candidate John Ferry said there is renewed hope that the post office can be saved:
