New Bill may pave the way for fibre broadband in all rural areas

A Bill to allow ESB Networks provide broadband services to rural areas could be passed before the end of the year.
The legislation, which was introduced by the Communications Minister before Christmas, is to be discussed at a Committee meeting today.
Pat Rabbitte will appear before the group to answer questions on the introduction of a new service provider to the market.
John O’Mahony, chair of the sub-committee, outlines how the service could be rolled out:
