Reilly to look into Donegal Paediatric Diabetes Service after concerns are raised in the Dail

Donegal’s opposition deputies have united in the Dail to call on the Health Minister to assign a clinical paediatric diabetes nurse to Letterkenny General Hospital.
The Hospital’s manager recently stated that there will be no reduction in the service provision for children with diabetes suggesting services will in fact improve.
This has been rejected by the Donegal Diabetes Parent Support Group, and Deputies Charlie McConologue and Thomas Pringle agree:

Responding, the Health Minister said he understands that services for children are being met with the restructuring of the diabetes nursing resources at Letterkenny General – but he did commit to look into the matter further:
