Pat Finucane Centre in Derry seeking early meeting with new Chief Constable over Good Samaritan bomb

goodsamaritanbombThe Pat Finucane Centre in Derry is seeking an early meeting with the new Chief Constable after it came to light that the PSNI is rejecting the central findings of the Police Ombudsman into the 1988 Good Samaritan Bombing case in Derry.
Last year, the Ombudsman upheld the Dalton family’s complaints that the RUC failed in their duty to advise the local community of possible IRA activities in the Creggan area, and that contributed to the deaths of three people.
It’s now emerged that In a letter dated May 31st last year, Deputy Chief Constable Judith Gillespie warns the ombudsman of a clear difference of opinion.
