Two pilot whales that a local man in Falcarragh tried to rescue yesterday have beached again.
Earlier this week, a pod of thirteen whales stranded on Balliness beach, the majority of those have died and have been buried.
A local man went to the beach in the early hours yesterday morning and refloated two of the whales which were just about still alive.
But both of these animals have washed up at Inishbofin and Bloody Foreland this morning. One of the whales has died, while the other is close to death.
A spokesperson for Spokesperson for National Parks and Wildlife Service had warned yesterday that the whales should not have been refloated and there was a high probability that they would beach again.
