A candidate in the Seanad by-election says he would expect John McNulty to resign if he still wins the seat.
Highland Radio news has learned that Mr McNulty has been flooded with calls from TDs and Senators asking him to re-enter the race – and it’s believed he WOULD consider accepting the seat if he still wins it.
John McNulty withdrew from the Seanad by-election on Tuesday – a move which came too late to get him off the ballot paper.
One bookmaker makes McNulty the odds-on favourite for the seat
Gerard Craughwell, who is also running in the by-election as an independent, says John McNulty would lose all his integrity if he accepted the seat:
