Top 20 finish in China for Philip Deignan

Letterkenny’s Philip Deignan had a top 20 finish at the Tour of Beijing in China this morning.
After five stages, the Team Sky rider finished 18th, 54 seconds behind the overall winner Philippe Gilbert of Belgium.
Philip who crossed the line in 73rd place today on the same time as the stage winner, rode very well in the service of Sky leader Davide Lopez  but the Spaniard was off his best form and did not make an impact on the head of the leader board.
Fellow Irishman Dan Martin took second, three seconds behind  Gilbert.
That result means Martin has finished inside the UCI top ten for the third time in four years.
